With the closing of the season, DSHA basketball has had a fantastic winter season. All three teams have performed well and had performances to be proud of.
The JV2 and JV basketball teams had exceptional seasons. As for JV2, they turned around their starting record of 2-6, and turned it into 10-10, which included a great win against Hamilton with a last second three-pointer by freshman Reese Roethe. The JV team ended with similar success by going 17-4! The JV dashers started their season 4-0, and after losing the next three with two wins, they ended their season with just one loss and eleven wins! Some of the wins include two wins against Tosa West and beating Tosa East after losing to them earlier in the season.
The Varsity team has also had an outstanding season, with a record of 15-9 overall and 11-5 in conference, 3rd place. Senior Maddie Brown leads the dashers with an average of 8.9 points per game and 6 rebounds per game. The dashers are ranked #61 in the Wisconsin rankings. Recently, the dashers celebrated the seniors on the team, Margret Richburg, Maria Hilbert, Maddie Brown, Emily Frank, Lilly Lanchester, Mia Minessale, and managers Meghan Quesnell, Grace Hodges, and Mara Tyrrell. On that same night, they beat Tosa West 63-30. Upcoming, the dashers will participate in the state tournament, being seeded #6, and are set to play Manitowoc Lincoln at DSHA.
