Fall sports are back! With the fall sports season coming to an end, post season, or state championship season is upon us. So far, DSHA has won 4 state titles this fall season, Varsity Golf, Varsity Tennis, Varsity Rugby, and Varsity Field Hockey.
DSHA’s Varsity Golf team has won their third consecutive State Championship. The Golf team came through on the second day of state, with a team effort and total of 621 to win by 20 shots. Varsity Tennis won state with a sister duo, senior Lizze Stuckslager and sophomore Amelia Stuckslager. This sister duo was able to capture the D1 doubles title. The sisters pulled off the win against Arrowhead highschool, winning 6 – 1/6 – 0, a dominating performance. Varsity Field Hockey also pulled off the win against Arrowhead highschool 1-0. After a tight and competitive game, the winning goal was scored by senior Rachel Memory. Most recently, Varsity Rugby’s A side won their state final 22-7 against Catholic Memorial for a 4-peat. DSHA’s volleyball came just short of the state title, making it all the way to the final, coming just short.
As we move towards the end of DSHA’s fall sports season, more sports still chase titles. Diving and Swim and Cross Country look for their own state titles. The fall sports are ending, with many great titles, but we have many winter sports in the coming months.
