The Winter Olympics are back! On February 6th, 2026, billions of people will gather to witness the exciting, heartfelt, and riveting winter sports. From snowboarding, skiing, bobsledding, or hockey, thousands of athletes gather to do what they love. However, all eyes turned to figure skating on January 11th 2026, when three young tenacious women, Amber Glenn, Isabeau Levito, and Alysa Liu earned their spot on the U.S Olympic Women’s Figure Skating team. These women continue to inspire and amplify the power of women in sports as they will be representing their country next month in Milan. So who are these three talented women?
Isabeau Levito, the third place Olympic qualifier, is known for her calm, effortless skating as she grasped the bronze medal last week at the 2026 U.S Figure Skating Championships. Isabeu started skating at 3 years old. From great support and guidance from her mother, Isabeau began to develop a natural grace as she participated in group lessons. By her teenage years, Isabeau had already started competing at National Junior levels where she gained a fanbase and attention from the judges. Isabeau’s rapid rise to fame sparked from her monumental victory in the 2023 U.S National Championship at only 15 years old. Other major accomplishments by Isabeau include the 2022 World Junior Championship where she won the Women’s title and her silver medal at the 2024 World Figure Skating Championships. Isabeau Levito will start the 2026 season off as one of the top ranked women entering into the Olympics and one of the youngest U.S. women’s champions in history. When off the ice, Isabeau is just like us as she enjoys Italian cuisine, music, and reading.
Furthermore, Alysia Lui took home the silver medal. Alysia Lui, who stands among many historical female skaters such as Michelle Kwan, has made many monumental milestones throughout her skating career. Alysia highlights the perseverance and passion of figure skating. In 2019, Alysia became the youngest U.S figure skating national champion in history at just 13 years old and the youngest female figure skater to land a quadruple jump in international competition. Alysia became a world junior bronze medalist in 2020 before competing in the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022 where she placed 6th in Women’s singles. After the Beijing Winter Olympics, Alysia won the 2022 world championships where she became the first U.S woman to win a world title since Kimmie Meissner in 2006. Alysia retired in 2022. However that was not the end, years later Alysia made a comeback where she picked her own costumes, music, and program aesthetic making her performance entirely fit for her. During her comeback in 2025, Alysia defeated the 3 time world defending champion Kaori Sakamoto from Japan. Alysia continues to inspire young skaters around the world as she is one of the youngest, achieved female skaters in U.S history who’s self expression on the ice is a delight to all.
Finally, Amber Glenn skated to victory taking home the gold medal at the U.S Women’s Figure Skating Championship. Despite Amber being considered “old” for a figure skater, at 26 years old, she has proved that no matter your age, you are able to accomplish the unexpected with dedication and perseverance. Through many years of hard work, Amber has made herself known widely for her passionate and authentic skating performances. In 2021, Amber won her first senior national medal and later won the 2024 U.S Championships. Following her growing success, in 2024 Amber won multiple major events and earned the highest score as a U.S woman at the Grand Prix de France. Amber is unapologetically herself as she has grown to reflect her feminine and masculine sides of her personality on and off the ice. Amber’s uniqueness is her power and her passion for change encourages female skaters to embrace their individuality beyond the ideal figure skater mold. Fans of Amber are always in for a performance of excitement, passion, and emotion. At the 2026 U.S championships, Amber performed her short program to “Like a Prayer” by Madonna which left fans excited, intrigued, and refreshed. As she’s known as a big advocate for mental health awareness and the LGBTQ+ community, Amber Glenn became the first openly LGBTQ+ female skater, when she came out as pansexual and bisexual in 2019. Amber strives to pave a path of inclusivity for the future of female figure skating. Off the ice, Amber enjoys anime, Star Wars, and animals.
Get ready to be wowed by these three talented women competing in February!
