Golf Recap
The golf team traveled to Madison this fall to compete in the WIAA State Girls Golf Tournament. Defeating Whitefish Bay by only four strokes, the Dashers had finally made it to State. “This was something that we really wanted this year, especially since it’s the first time in eleven years since the DSHA golf team has made it to state,” team member Maddie Olson (‘23) said in reflection on the season. Though achieving their goal to compete at state speaks to the success of the season, teammate Kate Krueger (‘24) indicated the journey was not effortless. She considered the team’s success as a product of the hard work they all put in at practice. Krueger stated, “I just think everyone had the same common goal, like everyone really wanted it.” “We really just put our heads down and got to work,” Olson added. “All of our scores mattered, and we had to push together.” Both athletes also felt team chemistry was a huge part of the team’s success this year. “I think it’s really important like after you have a bad round just to know that your teammates have your back,” Krueger said. After finishing 10th at state, Olson stated, “it was so exciting to go to state this year,” and she felt proud to be a part of this team for such a successful senior season.
