The Rugby Team had another phenomenal season this fall! Twenty Dashers from all four grades joined. Rugby’s A-Side was dominant in every game, as they scored over a hundred points in multiple games. The A-Side team’s best game was against the Fox Cities, with a score of 138-0. In the regular season, their record was 5-0. Rugby’s B-Side had ups and downs, but vastly improved since August and showcased their high potential and intensity. They worked on learning the game, the system, and techniques needed for success. Assistant Coach Joe Kloiber believes that “B-Side has the biggest impact on the success of our A-Side.” Both sides pushed each other to succeed and improve, week by week. Having both an A-Side and B-Side team has been an advantage for years, since they can practice and compete against each other, which is not something all schools have. To top off a great season, the A-Side Rugby team won the state tournament against Catholic Memorial 21-5, and B-Side took 5th place! This makes the Dashers back-to-back state champions! This team continues to set a higher standard for high school girls rugby. Now that the season is over, the DSHA Rugby teams are looking forward to the team bonfires, where the whole team gathers and talks about who they play for. This event makes the team feel more like a family. Congrats on an incredible season, Dashers!
